It’s Tuesday morning, 9:30 a.m. Friendly conversation and laughter fill the room. A candle ignites. Stillness grows. “Lord, we lay our lives before you. Bless us and all those who are in our care.” For the past four years, this has been the routine at leadership/staff meetings at RB Community Church. And now, after four years, Geoff Kohler concludes this ministry with us and enters retirement.
I can say, with joy, that the feeling amongst the staff and congregation has changed since Geoff arrived. Uncertainty, fear and distrust have been replaced with hope, excitement and confidence. We are looking forward to what God has in store for this church, including welcoming our new pastor, Jason Ko. I am so thankful the Lord called Geoff to transitional ministry at RB Community, and Geoff has served faithfully.
This weekend, we have the opportunity to express gratitude to Geoff and Beckie for their time in San Diego, and wish them well as they leave on their next adventure, which includes living a year in Ireland. Join us in worship this Sunday, along with the choir, orchestra, band, singers and readers, to worship God and acknowledge Geoff for a lifetime of pastoral ministry.
