Honoring Marion Stripe

The library board would like to give honor, tribute and thanks to Marion Stipe for her many years of service to RBCPC upon her retirement. Marion used her God given talents wisely to the benefit of many people along the way of her long life. Marion was born in Oak Park, Illinois, and after graduating from Wheaton College, taught children’s instrumental music for many years. She was a district teacher and traveled from school to school. Marion’s husband Claude was an anthropology professor, and their family moved around the Midwest. After retirement in 1988, they arrived here at RBCPC. Marion was an integral part of the growth and maintenance of our church library. She oversaw improvements and building of the collection of books from Christian research books to family life, fiction and children’s books. Marion has also volunteered with talking bibles, checking, labeling and packing translated versions of the Bible to be sent all over the world. Marion is a great cook, and wonderful hostess to family and friends. She sang in the choir, played in the orchestra and until recently attended Pastor Mofid’s study. In all her work and activities, Marion has been dependable, dedicated, and always willing to help wherever needed. We give tribute to this remarkable woman and our friend. Marion’s influence will be on the library forever, as a testament to learning and furthering the knowledge of Christ and his principles in our life here. As Marion has now retired, we owe her a debt of gratitude. With heartfelt love, THANK YOU MARION.
