Introducing Our Leaders April 10

A few weeks ago you were introduced to a new group of Elders and Deacons as they were installed into their leadership responsibilities for our church. Each leader commits to a three-year term and can serve two consecutive terms. In the coming weeks we would like you to meet our new leaders.

Kristine Martin Kristine Martin has been at RB Community for two years now. She and her husband Larry moved here from Ohio to be near their middle son Andy and his family. Kristine has a background in nursing and a masters in library science. Her husband served as a supply officer in the navy for 20 years, while raising three sons. Wherever they lived, the church was a big part of their lives. Kristine’s experience in the church has been teaching children’s and adult Sunday school. She has led Bible studies for up to twenty years. Kristine loves VBS. She also has visited people in their homes at several churches. She looks forward to serving here in California.

Diana Hall Diana Hall has been a member of RB Community for about 5.5 years. First being part of the Saturday night worship family. She joined a life group right away and is still meeting with that group. Since attending she has been involved in CBS, VBS, an usher, part of the life group leadership team, hospitality committee, and part of The Chosen series for 3 seasons. Last year she had the joy of working with the children's Summer music camp presenting Frozen. Presently she is starting year 4 of being a Deacon enjoying working with Missions, and wherever needed. Diana enjoys small groups and bible studies. She likes to call herself a wanna-be quilter and helps out with Tied in Prayer. She has lived in Penasquitos for 40 years in the same house and is currently with her dog Honey. She also enjoys being part of the Team of Seven greeting after service and meeting new people. She feels very blessed to be part of the RB Community family learning and growing in Christ with each other.

Eileen Neville Eileen comes from Marietta, Ohio, a small town in the southeastern part of the state. It was here that she met her husband Mel, whom she has been married to for 54 years. They have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren, whom they love spending time with. Their family moved to Ranch Bernardo 35 years ago, and she and Mel started attending RB Community shortly thereafter. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Child Development/Elementary Education. After teaching for a number of years and their children arrived, she was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home Mom until they got older. Eileen spent 20 years working as a Medical Assistant in a very busy Family Practice office until she retired in 2013. This is Eileen’s second term as a Deacon. She has been involved in numerous activities at RB Community. For many years she served as an usher, greeter, and Communion server at the contemporary service on Saturday night. She made home visitations to church members for the Parish Nurse. She enjoyed working at the church thrift shop for many years. During the Pandemic, Eileen was part of a team that regularly called church attendees to see if they needed any kind of assistance. Eileen believes that Deacons are truly the hands and heart of the church, and she has missed the many opportunities that being a Deacon provides for helping people in our church and supporting our community.
