We are blessed with another member of our church family who grew up in RB Community and finds the roots of his faith here. Noah Campillo came to us in 6th grade and participated in youth activities and in Olivia Donald’s drama programs through high school. If you have attended the wonderful plays that our youth present under the direction of Olivia, you have seen Noah. Some of his outstanding appearances include roles in:
Anything Goes - Spring 2023, Billy Crocker
Just Desserts - Fall 2022, Arney Costello
Cinderella - Spring 2022, Prince Topher
Wrangler at Red Mountain Ranch - Fall 2021, Edrick
The Addams Family - Spring 2020, Pugsley
The Case of the Show-Stopping Nun Nabber - Fall 2019, James Madden III
Godspell – Spring 2019, Disciple
The Little Mermaid - Spring 2018, Ensemble
If you were at church during one of our youth Sundays, you heard him deliver a very well-thought-out message about struggling with life while staying positive and seeing the silver lining (email
if you want the video link).
Noah grew up in Poway and attended school here at Chapparal, Twin Peaks Middle School, and Poway High. He is currently in his second year at UCLA. As part of his studies, he is a Learning Assistant for an introductory laboratory course and additionally a research assistant in a neurology lab doing research on autism in rats and in oncology-related to brain tumors. His career goal is to be a neurosurgeon and anticipates earning an MD and PhD. He would like to remain on the West Coast for med school either at UCLA or UCSD. Currently, Noah works closely with Luke in communications online from school in Los Angeles. When he is home in San Marcos, you can often find him on our church campus. He finds his connection to our church family is an essential part of his faith. Noah prays daily for guidance and direction in his everyday life. He is very busy with his studies, his work with Luke, conducting research, and as the club manager for ACE free clinic where he helps provide free health clinics for the underserved populations in the Los Angeles area. In his junior year in high school, Noah was diagnosed with a blood cancer that affects his blood platelets. The cancer does not adversely affect his life, so rather than being an obstacle, he feels that it has been a blessing. His attitude towards it is one of gratitude. His doctor, who discovered it, is very well-known in stem cell research and was one of the doctors who discovered his type of cancer. Her presence in his life and care has opened doors for him in his career path and he now travels to events to speak about his experience as a patient and works as a pediatric advocate and patient representative on panels. God’s ways are wider and deeper than ours. For Noah, this has given him a personal experience with God’s love and care for him. And has deepened his trust in God. Geoff has been telling us about this love for months. From Noah Campillo and Irene Dunny
