Outreach Ministry Helping Many in Our Community

The Missions Committee does more than provide financial support for missions and missionaries. They have also provided financial support for the Outreach Ministry to help defray costs and supplement projects when needed.

Through the generosity of our congregation and the support of the Missions Committee we have been able to continue our outreach in serving many families in our local communities. COVID has not slowed down our efforts only changed the way we serve others. In fact, we have increased the number of service opportunities and the congregation is to be commended for their ongoing support of our Saturday morning drive thru drop off efforts, whether it be food, backpacks, clothing, shoeboxes, or Thanksgiving Dinner Bags.

A quick summary of your gifts to others since July 2020: (6) drive thru food drop offs resulting in over 8,000 pounds of food for local food pantries; 1,700 sack lunches prepared for Interfaith Community Services; 281 back packs and school supplies provided to non-profit organizations serving students in Poway, Escondido, San Diego, and Vista; 198 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse; 79 Thanksgiving Dinner Bags delivered to families in Poway Unified, Solutions for Change, and enlisted military families at Miramar; 80 Bibles and study materials for the Navajo Nation and single parents at Door of HOPE; 10,000 meals packed for local families served through UNITE; and huge amounts of clothing provided to Veterans Village.

None of this is possible without YOU! We will continue to provide drive thru drop off events throughout the winter and encourage you to support the December food drive, Angel Tree, and the Fundraise Challenge for Missions.
