Reflections (August 14th, 2021)

It is so interesting how God calls you to do something when you least expect it. If you are listening and react to His call, you begin to bathe in this new adventure. I have been taking notes while listening to Geoff’s sermons, and I was feeling called to write my column again for the eNews. As I was walking up the aisle after the service on Sunday, someone turned to me and said how they had really missed my column. I knew right then I should reach out to see if it was possible to do this again. I started thinking about Geoff’s sermon recently that addressed the point of listening deeply and silencing the noise. This is so true. Sometimes we get riled up with so many things going on that we don’t take time to listen. We need to escape the noise for awhile and reflect on what God is saying and how we can implement some of the ways He is calling us.  I would, also, like to say that sometimes we are being asked to do so many things that we feel guilty we can’t do it all. Again, I think we need to take time to see what God is asking us to do. Other people appreciate working with us and want to spend time with us, but God may not be calling you to do everything. Geoff put out there that we need to consider what we can do that others cannot do. We do appreciate and love each other, and we don’t want to wear each other out.  Silence the noise. Listen for your calling. Remember whom you are serving. May God bless you this week as you take time to calm yourself and listen. Deborah Kelly
