Reflections For August 31

We gather here with open hearts and minds, seeking new beginnings. As we walk with God, let us embrace change, build strong relationships, and serve others. Our church's core values—Family Ministries, Worship, Core Leadership, and Connections—guide us on this journey. All of us rely on the guidance and support of God as we build our strong foundation for personal and spiritual growth. Walk with the spirit each day. Be curious about life outside of us. I liked the reminder of what we learned from everyone interviewed during the Appreciative Inquiry at the end of 2022 and the start of 2023. Our Mission Study Team identified our four core values, and we continue to build on these areas with the guidance and support of God. We want to positively impact the world with our values. We want to be the light of the world and share it with everyone! At the end of the service, Geoff suggested we say to God each night what we learned during the day. We should try this out for at least two weeks. Geoff’s prayer at the end asked us to be open to learn from God. This sent us off with a goal to realize how we are learning and growing. We don’t just show up on Sunday and be with God for an hour. God is with us always. We are becoming skillful in adaptive change. Reflections from Deborah Kelly.
