Last week the sermon was about the significance of Jesus’ baptism. I liked the words of the song “Come to the Waters,” which said, “Let all who thirsts, let all who seek, let all who toil, and let all the poor come to the water. Taste God’s own spirit.” All people are called to come to God. The Israelites crossing the Red Sea represented freedom and trust in God. When we are baptized, we are cleansed of sin. Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit, signifying his appointment as God’s chosen one. Jesus came to bring justice to the nations and to bear our sins. He died for our sins and then rose again, demonstrating his humility and love for us. Heaven opened at this moment. The Lord calls us to know Him, believe in Him, and receive Him as our Savior and King. We just need to wait patiently for His coming. We can give our lives in loyalty to Him and act as members of His kingdom. Just think about Jesus sitting and walking beside us every day. We can live in the hope of seeing him face-to-face one day. That is a very exciting hope for our future. If you didn’t check out the Art Gallery last Sunday, make sure you get a chance to visit it in the next seven weeks. The theme is “Blest Be the Ties that Binds”. It is a collection of Pastor Mofid’s ties. There are ties with many themes and scriptures. It is interesting to see how many ties have been produced showing God’s love and how we are a family in this church. We can see how God loves us, and we love Him. Jesus’ baptism gives us hope and salvation. Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
