Holiness is powerful and separates God from darkness. Holiness can impact our lives and cause us to act with greater patience. Isaiah 57 refers to comfort and healing for us. It brings people back to life. We need to have a respectful and awestruck attitude toward God. These were some themes from last week, and then I found two ways to stop and take in these ways to appreciate God. Mindful Moment – “The simple practice of smiling can actually trigger joy in the mind and body, helping relieve some pain or unpleasantness you may have avoided. Allow the eyes to close and find a comfortable sitting posture. Then smile for no reason.” Geoff’s Lenten Study – “Take a walk outside into nature and observe. Take note and even pictures of the beauty and variety of nature.” I felt so comforted and calm after I read these ideas. The weight of everyday life came off my shoulders. We can observe the love of God and how this love can be shared with others. By smiling, we acknowledge the joy God provides, reflecting His holiness in our own lives. We can walk and enjoy the beauty of the earth. Thank you God for all you have created! Reflections from Deborah Kelly.
