We all have been through something Geoff described last week: a permacrisis. It is a long period of great difficulty, confusion, or suffering that seems to have no end. Stuff keeps piling on us, and we need relief and refuge. We get overwhelmed. Yet, know that God is there to help. He is our refuge and strength. It feels like we don’t have hope, but we do. I looked up the reference to the Disney film “Frozen”. There were two songs (“Love is an Open Door” and “The Next Right Thing”) that had some themes related to the sermon topics. “I’ve been searching my whole life to find my place. But with you, I found my place. I see your face. It’s nothing like I’ve ever known before. Love is an open door with you. Say goodbye to the pain of the past. We don’t have to feel it anymore.” I can see all of us saying this to God. Wow! “The Next Right Thing” had the lyrics “Take a step. Step again. The next step is one I can make.” We know when we get connected to God, we see the light. We can take our steps into the goodness of God. We can walk this path, foster a sense of community and support, and serve the Lord. We will find strength, peace, and purpose, even in the midst of challenging circumstances. The ongoing experience of spiritual life and satisfaction is for all willing to receive it. God loves everyone! Thank you to everyone here in our church family for sharing your love! We are growing together! Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
