Reflections for August 30

Jesus is a shepherd who actively seeks out and redeems lost people. Like sheep that can wander off without a fence, we too can get lost and feel unsure of where to go. But Jesus promises to find us, no matter how lost we are. He shows us abundant mercy and grace, and He calls us to be like him by going outside the church to share our love with others. This message was supported by a reading from 1 Timothy 1:12-17, which reminds us to thank Christ Jesus for the strength and abundant grace He has given us. This powerful theme of finding and trusting God was also reflected in the song, "Trust in God," with the lyrics: "I trust in God, my savior, the one who will never fail. I sought the Lord and he hears and He answered. That’s why I trust Him." Our church truly embodies this mission by sharing love with others and being a source of help and support, showing others how to be there for people just as Jesus is there for us. It's inspiring to see so many people doing this, and we are so thankful for it. Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
