Reflections for april 5

In the sermon last week, I loved the connection of the Preschool Art Show and how that illustrates the importance of the creative process over the perfect end product. Children get to explore and learn in preschool. When I was teaching college classes, I had students work in small groups to hear other perspectives on the questions asked. Geoff likes to make things from scratch to see how something works. We can find ways to gain deeper understanding of what we are making. All of this relates to how God worked from scratch on the creation. God is in charge and knows every aspect of life. He wants us to participate with each other. We have the freedom to play together and learn from others. God works all things together for good. We are called to participate in God’s work. We can be stewards in all areas of life. We can explore, study, and understand more about God. In the song “You Are My Refuge, Faithful God”, it expresses trust and reliance on God as a source of strength, protection, and comfort which emphasizes His faithfulness and love for us. The prayer after the sermon had the words “guide our steps and illuminate our paths with your wisdom”. We are asking God to be with us and this means we need to extend our hands and heart to God. In the book “Remembering the Forgotten God”, it says “intimacy with God is the deepest desire of the human heart”. God wants a relationship with us, and he sent His Spirit in our hearts. The creative process, relationship with others, and seeking God’s guidance all contribute to that intimacy. Sharing a close relationship with God and others is what makes our life so special.
