Reflections for august 10

I often use a quote when discussing business: “The status quo is unacceptable”. We need to adapt to new ideas and try out different ways to do things to survive in business and life. This connects to what Geoff was talking about last week. We need to walk into change. Be curious. We can keep moving forward in our spiritual growth. Through God’s guidance, we can deepen our faith and impact the world. In Geoff’s prayer, he asked God to open us to learn. God has blessed us with life, with faith, and with community. We are not alone in going through change. We have others around us working through new ideas, changing jobs, moving, and growing. We struggle, but we have friends around us to help. We have God around us to help. There is a greater plan for everyone. By opening ourselves to God’s guidance, we can discover our purpose. I was thinking recently about how many things have changed in my lifetime. We now have phones we carry around with us. We have computers that don’t use punch cards. We have streaming services with previous television shows instead of only being able to watch what is on today. The list goes on and on with all of the new ideas since we have been born. No, it is not easy to get used to new ways to do things. However, many things are easier, faster, or lighter weight. We are so lucky to have God and people in our lives to help us get through changes. We need a mindset of openness, curiosity, and faith to embrace change and seek God’s direction.
