Reflections for june 29

I loved the example in the sermon about the Power of God where God’s light (a candle flame) can be seen from afar in the darkness. We want to find the light. We want to have our community to care for each other since it strengthens us. God is doing things within us and with us to make a difference for others and ourselves. God forgives us and renews us each day. Singing together and sharing our experiences strengthen our community. It is so uplifting to look around at others as we sing hymns each Sunday. People are smiling, getting into the words of the songs, and feeling the impact on ourselves and others. Singing “Down by the Riverside” with the choir was so fun! Another song had the words “hope and will to go on”. After the service each week, I think we all feel hope and are ready to take on another week knowing God is with us. The end of the service was a time for prayer and reflection as Mofid walked us through four key points—Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. God cares for so many people, giving them a purpose in life. We make mistakes, but God forgives us. We thank God for how he is working in people’s lives. We can bring requests to our prayer team, and they will pray for us. Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
