Reflections for may 11

The resurrection of Jesus signifies a new beginning and the potential for constant renewal in our lives. Geoff asked us if we wake up every day in newness. The excitement of a new beginning is that we will worship the Lord with joy just like we did with the Praise song the last two weeks. People were clapping and happy as we sang this song. There is a new understanding of others when we think about newness. We can bring healing and wholeness to everyone and spread the good news. Think about how we can start each day with new thoughts and ideas. You may have made some mistakes yesterday, but God will forgive you. Today you can be a new person. How will you be different? How will you make a difference for others? I see this with people in this church as they take on new ideas. We keep finding ways to spread the good news of Jesus and how we can help others by giving food, clothing, supplies, and more. Each day, week, and month is different in how we serve in our community and around the world. One of the scripture readings for last week (Hebrews 10:19-25) is about spurring one another on toward love and good deeds. This could be a nudge for us to determine how we can make a difference and be led by how God is trying to help us make a difference. We can keep growing like the trellis.
