Stepping into the Gap

WOW! What an amazing response to the request for emergency assistance for clothing, bedding, shoes, and toiletries. I have made three trips with a very full car to the Alpha Project ‘s temporary location with donations from our church and RISE Resale Shop. The men helping me unload have been so appreciative of all the donations. Our January collection of family toiletries have also been distributed to eight non-profits serving the homeless, those escaping abusive situations, human trafficking, and addiction. Missionary Visitors in February You will have two opportunities to meet and visit with a couple of our supported missions. Feb 11 – Sumya and Batka from the Mongolian Centurian Military Ministry will be at our worship service and, in the courtyard, to greet you. Thank you to Ken & Cindy Stephens and to Fran Spear for hosting our guests. Feb 18 – Kelly Kosky will be on campus during worship and in the courtyard after the service sharing information about Grace Children’s Center and Gatyana Bible College. We appreciate Scott and Carol Wood hosting Kelly and providing a Meet & Greet in the Fellowship Hall. Mission Committee Updates Recommendations were brought forward at the Nov. 26th Mission Summit to increase the congregation’s awareness of our supported missions. To that end, Session has approved regular minute for mission updates during the Life of the Church announcements to coincide with a monthly offering every third Sunday of the month. SAVE THE DATES -Feb 10-11 SOUPER BOWL of CARING – collecting canned goods and boxed groceries for Interfaith Community Services and New Day Urban Ministries. -Feb 17 – Drive thru collection of hoodies, sweaters, jackets, and other warm outerwear for men, women, and children. Donations can be left in the office throughout the month. -March 16 – All Church Food Packing event to assemble 45,000 meals for Kids Around the World and Baja Presbyterian Missions.
