Thanksgiving Dinner with a Side of HOPE

Thanksgiving Dinner with a Side of HOPE

The photo was taken at San Diego Rescue Mission, where members of one of our Life Groups helped to serve Thanksgiving dinner to unsheltered neighbors on Saturday, November 15th. The following week, 336 Thanksgiving Dinner bags with extra groceries were delivered to a number of non-profits, military families, PUSD schools, and low-income housing units within our local communities. Rejoice in knowing that you not only provided food to these individuals and families, but you also provided HOPE. Another way that you are providing HOPE to those you will never meet is through RB Community’s support of our Mongolian teacher and military personnel ministries. Recently, over 1000 Mongolian teachers gathered together to learn more about God’s Word and Jesus’s teachings. Think of the impact if each one of those new Christians were to share their love for Christ with family members and/or students at the schools where they teach. Think about the HOPE you have helped to provide for young children learning about the love of Jesus through the 340 shoeboxes our congregation provided to Samaritan’s Purse or the 1185 shoeboxes that flowed through our Welcome Center from local churches, families, and scout troops during Samaritan Purse’s National Collection Week. Each time we serve a meal to strangers, provide groceries or other necessities to those dealing with food insecurity, housing issues, or substance abuse, we are sharing the HOPE only Jesus can provide.
