The Amazing Month of May

The Amazing Month of May

The generosity of RB Community members, friends, and families in our local community who participate in the Saturday drive thru drop-off events continue to provide hope and the love of Christ to those in need. Our first drive thru event was in April 2020 and 14 cars drove thru dropping off groceries. Since then, the drive thru events have attracted more participants with 46 cars driving thru to drop off items for our May 15th collection.

Outreach Ministry May results:

  • 11 grocery carts of food collected and donated to 4 Community Care food pantry serving seniors and families within the Poway Unified School District boundaries

  • 500 sack lunches provided to clients at Interfaith Community Services with a huge THANK YOU to the Boedeker family, the Bumper/Juhasz family, the Donald family celebrating Phoebe’s birthday, and to RB Community members and friends at Silvergate Retirement Center who packed 200 lunches.

  • 5 SUV carloads of toiletry items that were collected and delivered to Door of Hope, Interfaith Community Services, Monarch School, New Day Urban Ministries, and Solutions for Change. Some items are being held for delivery to South Bay Community Services once the Fire Marshall allows more deliveries for the migrant girls. Westminster Presbyterian Church in Escondido joined our efforts and provided 66 travel kits.

On May 15th RB Community hosted the first TransFARMation event for Solutions for Change in our upper parking lot. During the drive-thru event, Bryan Moche from Solutions handed out free samples from their produce boxes. If you are interested in ordering a produce box (they will deliver) or learning more about their organic farm, please visit the following link:

I invite you to participate in our drive thru June events from 9:00-11:00 in the upper parking lot:

June 5 – Grocery collection for Interfaith Community Services food pantry

June 19 – Collecting dog & cat food (other pet food too), treats, leashes, toys, litter, training pads, clean bedding, paper towels and clean bath towels for San Diego Humane Society and the Helen Woodward Animal Center. We are not collecting cages or animal carry cases.

If your family or small group would like to pack 100 sack lunches for Interfaith, please contact Elaine@rbcpc.org. This is an easy and fun family or group event.

Thank You for helping to make a difference in the lives of families in our local communities.
