Tied In Prayer

With “Connections” as the theme of our spiritual formation classes, this is a good time to give thanks to a LifeGroup of quilters who call themselves Tied in Prayer. Led by Kathy Wesley and Kathy Brubaker, members connect with each other by sharing fellowship and a common desire to offer their gifts and talents to others. They are creative sewers who grow enthusiastic over the artistry as well as the practicalities that form a beautiful quilt. At their meetings three times a month there is a lot of laughter, sharing of ideas, and excitement at how different designs on materials connect to form complex and artistic patterns. This month the quilters from Green Valley Church came to RB Community to share in the fun of quilting. A new goal of our Tied in Prayer quilters is to expand their ministry by connecting with groups from local churches The group’s projects include baptism quilts, quilts for Deacon distribution, and more. No doubt we have all tied our prayers onto these quilts that bless their recipients. Right now, the main project of this LifeGroup is to make prayer squares that will accompany our veterans at the end of September on their Honor Flight celebration of military service. The Tied in Prayer members exemplify our God who wants us to love, laugh, and find joy in discovering and sharing our creativity and talents. Their work comes from their hearts and, as they bless others, they too are blessed. That is how our loving God works. From Irene Dunny
