Tutoring Adults in English - making a difference

At RB Community we tutor adults in English through a very special program.

Officially known as the Rancho Bernardo Literacy Center, our Monday morning program has existed for 30 years and is part of the Laubach Literacy Council. It is named for Frank Laubach who was a missionary promoting worldwide literacy. We commonly refer to this service: English as a Second Language (ESL). Gabby Martin, former church custodial supervisor, was one of our students. Gabby received an award for being an outstanding student and also received her US citizenship. Like Gabby, many of our students use our ESL classes to improve their skills in reading and writing on their pathway to citizenship.
