We are three days into Vacation Bible School, and the energy on campus is contagious. Every morning this week, 150 kids have been filling rooms all over our church, learning biblical truths, playing crazy games, creating fun crafts, and being nurtured by a caring community of volunteers and staff.
This year’s theme is “True North: Trusting Jesus in a Wild World.” Each day, our children are discovering that no matter what life brings, they can trust Jesus. On Monday, they learned that when we wonder, we can trust Jesus. On Tuesday, when we feel alone, we can trust Jesus. And today, the lesson is that when we feel powerless, we can trust Jesus.
But the impact doesn’t end when they leave campus each day. As these children return home, they carry these truths with them. For some, this might be the only time the Gospel enters their home this year. VBS is not just about reaching kids – it is an opportunity to reach entire families with the hope and love of Jesus.
Throughout the week, our campus has been filled with laughter, curiosity, music, and prayer. These programs are so much more than just a fun summer activity. They are moments where children and families alike are invited to know and trust Jesus. They build a foundation of faith that can shape homes and generations.
We want to thank every single volunteer who has poured out their time, creativity, and love this week. Whether you have been teaching, leading games, preparing snacks, managing crafts, setting up spaces, or supporting behind the scenes, your service is planting seeds of faith in these young lives and their families. We are also grateful to every person in our congregation who prays for and supports these ministries throughout the year.
As we look forward to our afternoon carnival on Friday, where the kids will celebrate a wonderful week of learning and growing, we remember the truth they have been carrying with them each day: In all things, they can trust Jesus.
Thank you for being a church that values children and families and invests in programs that share the Good News of Jesus far beyond our campus walls.
